Famous for its cosmopolitan atmosphere, its exciting nightlife that is often compared to Ibiza, its picturesque Cycladic capital full of mykonian whitewashed houses and blue domed churches, its luxurious hotels, the sightseeings and its magnificent sandy beaches.
Mykonos is world famous. It is the most cosmopolitan of the Greek Islands and attracts many visitors from all over the globe. Beneath its sophisticated surface, lies a quite essentially Greek island. Hundreds of tiny chapels dot this blue and white-washed island with its beautiful windmills. The 3 day program includes day trip to Delos, once a Sacred Island, the legendary birthplace of the Sun God Apollo and his twin sister Artemis. For 500 years, tiny Delos was the religious & commercial hub of the entire Aegean.
Arrival in Mykonos and check in at the four or five star, ideally located hotel (see the Suggested Hotels section).
Visit “Hora”, the island’s capital, and enjoy a walking tour in the narrow cobbled streets of the town, passing by chic boutiques, elegant nightclubs and white–washed houses until reaching its charming corner, known as the ‘’Little Venice”. The houses are built on the sea, with wooden balconies that evoke Venice. Find a table at a little café on the waterfront and bask in the serenity of the sunset, over its picturesque harbour.
Dinner at a famous Greek food restaurant in Little Venice, with thoughtful and creative menus including seafood plates and an exquisite balcony view.
Half day trip to Delos. Our visitors depart from the port of Mykonos by boat, and sail along the western coast of the island, through Diles & Rhenia Islands, to the ancient harbour of Delos, where they begin their walking tour. First the Agora and beyond it, the Sacred Way, which leads to the Temple of Apollo, the remains of a Hellenistic Quarter with its harbour, water house and luxurious villas, such as the House of Cleopatra, the House of the Dolphins, the House of the Masks and the House of Dionysus. Dinner in the picturesque neighbourhood of Lakka, in the heart of the town of Mykonos, for traditional Greek food, with the aromas and flavours from every corner of Greece, in a warm and hospitable atmosphere combined with a sophisticated style and design.
Swim and relax at one of the golden sand beaches. In the afternoon, it is time to leave Mykonos, with the memories of a fabulous island and continue your Greece experience to the beautiful islands.
